So, as of Sunday, Asher was down to 5 lbs. and his body temp was 95.something, so they put him into an isolet (which is a heated incubator) Sunday morning, where he stayed until Thursday night of this week (February 9). He's in my room now... Oh, I was discharged Sunday, but I've been rooming in, which is where the mother and father can stay for free in a room, as long as there is room... I've been nursing every 3 hours and now we are hoping to be discharged tomorrow as long as his body temperature is 98 or above and as long as he's gained some weight. I'm sure they have a minimum amount, but I don't know what it is. It's been an exhausting week. I haven't been home since I left for my prenatal appointment on Thursday of LAST week at 2:00pm... the dogs probably think I'm dead. We want to make sure Asher is healthy before we take him home, though, so we are trying to be as patient as one can be in a situation like this.
He is a beautiful little boy, even if I am biased, I'm pretty sure he's got his daddy's good looks... Now I'm hoping he also gets his laid back personality and easy going demeanor!
These are mostly fun pics of family and friends with him, so I'm not going to explain each one ... Enjoy!
These are only a small dent in the number of pictures we have at this point, but I do not have the time or the energy to add all of them.
We are praying to bring Asher home soon and we are so happy he is here. It doesn't seem real - like we are parents and we have a child now - I'm excited. I think we might actually be good at this. Stay tuned!
